I recently began undergoing treatment with Aaron Gabrielse for a partial tattoo removal and have been very, very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend Aaron for this procedure.
On May 12th I added color behind an existing tattoo on the front of my right shoulder (photo below at left). I immediately knew I’d made a mistake in asking my artist to do this. I decided that I wanted to look into getting that part of the tattoo removed so I searched online and found The Cosmetic Laser Center.
I called and was able to speak with Aaron right away. The first thing that struck me was how extremely helpful he is. He took the time to explain to me all my options, to give me his email address so I could send him a picture of the tattoo (enabling him to give me a more accurate idea of what I was facing), and to schedule an appointment with me right away. I must also say that I truly appreciate that Aaron asked me to take a day or two to think about it to make sure it was indeed the path I wanted to take. He mentioned a lot of people end up with buyer’s remorse right away after a tattoo and he wanted to make sure I was positive that I wanted it removed. Never once did I feel any pressure or as if I was getting a sales pitch to have the removal procedures done.
Once I had decided that I indeed wanted to have it removed I was lucky enough to be able to get an appointment with him in less than a week. The fact that Aaron travels to our part of the state was a huge benefit for me as the next closest treatment facility is over an hour away. Once at the appointment I was immediately comfortable with Aaron’s relaxed and welcoming manner. I was made to feel right at ease and relaxed. Aaron took the time to carefully examine the tattoo (as he’d only seen pictures before), to go over everything we’d discussed before, and to thoroughly explain the procedure, the equipment used, the possible side effects, and the desired long-term effects.
The procedure itself was actually nothing for me to have been nervous about. I have eight tattoos so I am no stranger to the ‘pain’ that they can cause and I have heard all the horror stories about how much more painful the laser removals are. However, I found the treatment to be equally, if not less, uncomfortable than the tattoo process itself. I can honestly say if you could stand to get the tattoo you can stand to get it removed.
After following Aaron’s simple instructions for after-care it was just a matter of waiting to see how the ink and my body reacted to the treatment. There was immediate welting at the treated sites and for the next day or so it felt like I had a sunburn but that is as uncomfortable as it got. My results so far have been amazing. There was a very dramatic reduction in the color of the treated areas after the first six weeks with absolutely no scarring or discoloration of my skin. I just underwent my second treatment two weeks ago and have again seen a very significant reduction in the appearance of the ink at the treated areas and I see less and less color every week.
I also feel I should mention that I was brave enough to tell my artist that I was having these procedures done. I was wary of his reaction but did not expect the one I got. He was sincerely amazed at how great it looked. He said it’s amazing that they can be so accurate with it and that they haven’t touched any of the rest of the tattoo. Unless you look very closely the remaining tattoo looks completely unmarred even though the treated areas are literally connected to the part of the tattoo that I am keeping.
If you are considering having a tattoo removed I highly recommend Aaron. I couldn’t be more pleased with the process and the results I am seeing. If you have any questions or would like to discuss any of this with me please ask Aaron for my phone number, I’d be more than happy to talk with you about it.
