Wishing Away Rosacea Never Works
New Technology Offers Viable & Highly-Effective Rosacea Treatment
Hiding behind makeup, scarves and long hair is no longer necessary! If you’ve ever had acne or rosacea, it’s time to seize the day. New solutions to improve conditions like redness and facial flushing are now being offered with IPL Photorejuvenation and Pulsed Dye Laser Treatments.
Let me say that again in plain English: At the Cosmetic Laser Center, We are now offering treatments using broad spectrum light and lasers to improve that skin condition that has been annoying you for the past several years.
I’m excited about these treatments because I know how it feels to avoid being in pictures and dread being seen in direct sunlight. If you’ve been affected by acne or rosacea, it’s not your fault and you’re not the only one.
The cause of Rosacea is still being debated but the symptoms of redness and flushing are not. So, how do these treatments work?
Pulsed Dye Laser
Just like IPL, Pulsed Dye Laser treatments are highly effective, treating the symptoms of rosacea. The laser used is called the Candela V beam Perfecta. The Pulsed Dye Laser produces a wavelength of light which is selectively absorbed by the hemoglobin in the capillaries. The energy, once absorbed becomes heat inside the vessels and causes them to coagulate so blood can no longer move through the vessels. The body will then begin to breakdown and remove the vessels over a 6 week period. Treatments only take about 30 minutes and depending on the severity of the Rosacea, the treated person may resume normal activities the next day.
After receiving a treatment, you should avoid direct exposure to sunlight and moisturize the treated area. Results are usually noticed about 3-6 weeks after treatment, depending on the condition.
This treatment involve lasers and or broad-spectrum light called “IPL,” or intense pulsed light. The benefits include reduction of flushing up to 50, with a reduction in visible vessels of 60-80% while promoting the healing process and stimulating collagen growth.
Depending on your affected area, multiple sessions may be recommended, but that would be discussed in your individual consultation. The most common side effect from IPL is a bit of redness or flushing, but that tends to fade within 24 hours.
Makeup has become a crutch these days, used daily by men and women alike. I know some people who actually spend two hours getting ready to leave their house because they want to look “flawless.”
First of all, none of us are flawless and people should be comfortable with who they are – but if you can’t be comfortable in your skin, maybe it’s time to think about treatments that will free you from the clutches of your makeup case.
And if you have reservations about laser treatments, come in for a tour and a free, private consultation. Our Laser specialist will answer all of your questions, giving you the information to make a fully informed decision on the treatment of your Rosacea. The Cosmetic Laser Center is proud to offer State of the Art laser technology for the treatment of Rosacea.
